Return & Exchange Policy (The After Dark Promise)
At Authority of Fashion (AOF), every saree is treated as a piece of art. From fabric selection to final packing, each piece undergoes triple quality checks before it reaches you.
That said, we understand that buying a saree online is personal. Textures feel different. Colours may appear slightly varied under different lighting. And sometimes, something simply doesn’t feel right when you try it on at home.
Our return and exchange policy is designed to meet you there — clearly, fairly, and without unnecessary friction.
1. Easy Size & Style Exchanges (No-Questions-Asked)
Even though most of our sarees are free-size, comfort matters. If you feel the fit or style doesn’t suit you, we offer a one-time exchange for another product of the same or higher value.
How it works: Request an exchange within 48 hours of delivery. Customer has to pay the difference amount for higher-value exchanges and store credit will be given for lower-value exchanges
2. Damaged or Defective Items
In the unlikely event that you receive a damaged product or the wrong item:
- Free Replacement will be arranged at no cost.
- If a replacement is unavailable, a full cash refund will be issued to your bank account.
- Unboxing Video Required: Please record a short video while opening your package. This acts as proof that the issue occurred in transit and helps us resolve the matter instantly.
- Fee: ₹0 — we bear all costs.
3. Returns for Preference-Based Reasons
If the saree isn’t right for you due to fabric feel, colour tone variation, or personal preference:
- Returns are applicable on non-sale items only
- Request must be raised within 48 hours of delivery
- Refunds are issued as AOF Store Credit
- Store credit has no expiry and can be used anytime on our website
How to Exchange or Return Your Purchase
The process is simple and stress-free:
- WhatsApp us with your order details and the item you wish to exchange or return.
- Your request will be reviewed and approved within 24–48 hours.
Once approved:
- Pickup is arranged within 1–3 working days.
- Please keep the item ready and take a quick photo or video during handover.
- After reaching our warehouse, the product undergoes a quality check (takes 4–8 working days).
- Refunds, exchanges, or store credits are issued within 48 hours of approval.
Conditions for Return or Exchange Eligibility
- The saree must be unused, unworn, and unwashed.
- All original tags, packaging, and accessories must be intact.
- The product must be returned in resalable condition.
Every returned or exchanged product is inspected at our warehouse. Items showing signs of wear, washing, alteration, or post-delivery damage will not be approved.
Non-Returnable Items (Final Sale): To maintain strict hygiene and fair pricing standards, the following items are not eligible for return or exchange:
- Items bought during a Sale / Clearance
- Customized Sarees (Stitched to order).
- Blouses, Petticoats, and Jewelry.
If Your Package Shows “Delivered” but Isn’t
If your tracking status shows delivered but you haven’t received the package, inform us within 24 hours. We will coordinate with our courier partner to investigate and resolve the issue.
